The city of Espoo chose Avaintec’s digital archive after a public tender. Now Espoo will become the first city in Finland whose archive is a cloud service.
Espoo’s current operational systems do not fulfil the criteria for long-term storing of digital documents, and therefore documents need to be stored in paper or microfilm formats.
On 21.9.2018 Avaintec was announced as the winner of the public tender, which measured customer satisfaction, solution features, price, expertise, and service model. Avaintec garnered the highest total points, and excelled particularly in customer satisfaction and required solution features. Scalability and connectivity were important aspects the city wanted.
The winning solution is based on Avaintec’s Vendor Neutral digital archive, X-Archive, which works especially well for the public sector. It is currently in use in several cities and municipalities, as well as in almost all hospital districts in Finland.
“Avaintec’s digital archive solution will enable Espoo to manage documents and registers in a proper digital manner. The digital archive will require us to renew our operational models and learn new things! We can hardly wait to begin cooperation with Avaintec,”
says director of document management, Ulla Tanskanen.
The project has commenced and the first deployment is scheduled for spring 2019.
