PRESS RELEASE : Avain Technologies Oy and St.Petersburg Information and Analytical Center Sign a Five-year Co-operation Agreement

Helsinki (Avain Technologies Oy), 14.01.2008 - The St. Petersburg Information and Analytical Center (IAC) and Avain Technologies Ltd have entered a five-year co-operation agreement. According to the agreement, IAC and Avain Technologies will together develop eServices and eArchive solutions for the City of St. Petersburg. The agreement also confers Avain Technologies the right to market and sell IAC’s products in other markets, including Finland and Europe.

IAC and Avain Technologies will also consolidate their product development in certain product ranges. This provides both parties with good opportunities to develop products effectively and test innovations in larger markets.

IAC is a government-owned enterprise with more than 25 years’ experience in the IT industry. IAC’s mission is to form and develop conceptual principles for the integrated communications of St. Petersburg’s governing bodies. This strategy aims not only to solve local departmental problems, but also to highlight and eliminate deficiencies in the performance of St. Petersburg’s governing bodies by implementing modern information technology.

Avain Technologies is a Finnish company specialized in creating and tailoring software for digital signatures, forms and archiving. Organizations and corporations can use its software to digitize their service and information workflow processes across organizational boundaries, without compromising information security.

We are also looking forward to expanding our co-operation to other regions of Russia and other markets,” says Boris Isaev, Director of St.Petersburg Information and Analytical Center.

The new agreement opens doors for Avain Technologies to the Russian IT market, which is one of the fastest-growing IT markets in the world. The co-operation in product development areas makes more high-quality product development resources available and allows the company to test products in a large markets.
